Auricht Projects was contracted by the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources to develop a series of broad scale conceptual models for the major social and ecological systems (SES) or landscapes in the South East NRM Region of South Australia and identification of possible responses to changing climate and land use conditions. Involved developing a methodology to capture information on major characteristics, values and benefits for each landscape area together with social, ecological and environmental drivers for each system. As part of the project a ”toolkit’ was developed including components for updating and refining models to capture information related to threats, stressors, ecological responses and modifiers plus methods to accommodate local knowledge and issues via community input.
